Transitional Living Program: Special Population Demonstration

The report documents how grantees implemented specialized Transitional Living Programs for LGBTQ youth and young adults aging out of foster care, highlighting approaches, challenges, and lessons learned.

Funded by the Family and Youth Services Bureau from 2016–2018, this process study evaluates how nine grantees across the U.S. implemented housing and supportive services for youth at high risk of homelessness.

The study examines service models, trauma-informed practices, community partnerships, and strategies for promoting youth inclusion and resilience. It also identifies key challenges and promising practices in serving LGBTQ youth and those aging out of foster care.
