DAHLIA Project Presentation
This 2015 project presentation outlines the vision, research, and product requirements for DAHLIA, San Francisco’s online platform to centralize and simplify affordable housing searches and applications.
Created as part of the Google Civic Bridge partnership with the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing, this deck documents the problems in the city’s paper-based, fragmented affordable housing system and proposes a digital solution.
It presents findings from interviews, field research, and user testing with applicants, housing counselors, property managers, and city staff to inform DAHLIA’s design. The deck details planned features—such as a single online application, applicant accounts, housing listings, communication tools, and developer/counselor interfaces—along with success metrics, anticipated challenges, and the roadmap for pilot testing and public launch.
