Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy has identified five principles that should guide the design, use, and deployment of automated systems to protect the American public in the age of artificial intelligence. These principles help provide guidance whenever automated systems can meaningfully impact the public’s rights, opportunities, or access to critical needs.

The “Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights” outlines five key principles to guide the design, use, and deployment of automated systems in the United States, emphasizing protections such as safe and effective systems, algorithmic discrimination protections, data privacy, notice and explanation, and human alternatives, consideration, and fallback.

The document aims to ensure that AI technologies are developed and used in ways that protect civil rights, promote equity, and enhance individual autonomy.
