This annual report details the state’s strategic use of technology to enhance digital services, cybersecurity, equity, and efficiency across government, improving access and outcomes for all Minnesotans.

In 2024, MNIT delivered major advancements in digital service delivery, launching or enhancing 33 self-service tools and laying the groundwork to reach 40 by 2027.
The state hired its first AI Director, modernized IT systems across agencies, migrated over 1,500 servers to the cloud, and implemented a unified login system. Strategic investments included $13.1M through the Technology Modernization Fund to improve CX, mitigate cybersecurity risks, and advance equity-driven digital accessibility. MNIT also introduced a cybersecurity incident reporting law, a new cybersecurity governance framework, and launched statewide tools to track IT projects, manage risk, and modernize infrastructure. Initiatives like the Easy Enrollment health insurance program, the EV rebate platform, and real-time public safety data tools exemplify MNIT’s commitment to responsive, people-centered government.
