EPIC spent 14 months mapping the use of ADM systems across D.C., documenting 29 tools used by over 20 agencies in areas like housing, public benefits, policing, and health.
Through case studies and vignettes, the report exposes how these technologies often operate without transparency, reinforce systemic bias, and lack adequate oversight or due process protections. It concludes with recommendations for transparency, accountability, and equity in the use of automated systems.
