Doorway Housing Seeker Foundation UX Research Findings
This presentation shares user experience research on the challenges, priorities, and opportunities for improving the journey of Bay Area residents seeking affordable housing.
Conducted in February 2023 by Google.org and the Bay Area Housing Finance Authority, the research is based on interviews with local residents navigating affordable housing searches.
It documents housing seekers’ priorities, the systemic barriers they face, and their reliance on fragmented resources such as government portals, community organizations, and general housing sites. The findings highlight key pain points, opportunities to improve access and clarity, and actionable recommendations for building more supportive and effective housing platforms.
