Algorithmic Transparency Recording Standard Hub

This hub introduces the UK government's Algorithmic Transparency Recording Standard (ATRS), a structured framework for public sector bodies to disclose how they use algorithmic tools in decision-making.

Published Year: 2025

The ATRS hub provides a standardized template and detailed guidance to help UK public sector organizations document and publish their use of algorithmic systems transparently.

It includes a scope and exemptions policy, last updated in December 2024, which defines what types of algorithmic tools must be reported and under what circumstances. The hub also features a searchable repository of published ATRS records and is maintained by the Government Digital Service (GDS) in collaboration with the Responsible Technology Adoption Unit and the Data Standards Authority. Collectively, these resources aim to support accountability and responsible AI adoption across the UK government.
