SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) Implementation Toolkit
This toolkit provides guidance and resources for state agencies to effectively implement the USDA’s Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) program, which helps low-income families buy food during the summer months when school meals are unavailable.

Developed by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), this toolkit supports state agencies in the rollout of SUN Bucks (the Summer EBT program), aimed at reducing food insecurity among children during summer break.
It includes implementation guidelines, eligibility criteria, outreach strategies, and administrative best practices to ensure smooth program operation. The toolkit also provides communication templates, data-sharing considerations, and reporting requirements to help agencies coordinate with schools, vendors, and community partners. By following these resources, state agencies can maximize program reach, ensure compliance, and improve food access for children in need.
