Chief Digital Service Officer Community of Practice
The Digital Service Network (DSN) empowers governments to use human-centered strategies to deliver government services that reflect the needs and expectations of people who use them – we know that the humans leading this work are critical to success.
The Chief Digital Service Officer Community of Practice (CDSO CoP) is a closed group designated for leaders of government digital service teams from across North America. We define government digital service teams as in-house teams of digital practitioners with:
- Expertise in, at minimum, user-centered research and design, agile product management, and data-driven decision making. Many DST practitioners also have experience in digital government policy, change management, cybersecurity, and/or cloud-based solutions.
- A mandate to create and improve, and/or help other government actors create and improve, public-facing online government experiences.
If you do similar work in a government organization, we encourage you to express interest in the CDSO CoP!
Community
The CDSO CoP is a safe and trusted space for government practitioners to:
- Connect with other digital leaders focusing on similar work in their jurisdictions
- Learn with and from one another about promising practices and new approaches
- Share stories, resources, and helpful practices that can support digital service transformation. Participants can also share challenges you’re facing and receive feedback or advice from the community.

What to expect when joining:
- Monthly meetings – We meet as a community to connect, learn from, and support each other.
- When: First Thursday of each month @ 12pm PT/3pm ET
- Where: Zoom (Calendar invite with Zoom information sent once you register)
- What is a meeting like?
- Community-driven agenda for monthly calls – you have the opportunity to help shape the agenda to meet your current needs and challenges
- Our meetings include activities and opportunities to get to know others in government, share our experiences, challenges, ideas, and learn about innovations in other organizations, and offer practical tips – all in service of helping to advance digital transformation
- Listserv – We understand you may not always be able to meet and a members-only listserv provides asynchronous connection opportunities to ask questions and share information with the CoP.
- Community Norms – Within all DSN community spaces, we agree to adhere to our community norms.
