Digital Benefit Leadership Council Organizations
The Leadership Council:
- Hosts the space to imagine and collaborate on new futures for benefits policy and delivery.
- Builds community amongst organization leaders and leverages the competitive advantage of each Council organization toward common short and long term goals.
- Develops a shared understanding of the digital benefits landscape, current strengths, and current and future gaps.
- Is structured to rapidly respond in collective and coordinated ways to pressing digital benefits issues and within specific public benefit programs.

Background
In 2023, the Beeck Center helped convene top civic technology organizations to strategize, leverage cross-organizational capacity, and quickly respond to states’ needs for deploying automated Medicaid renewals. Thanks to increased and coordinated help from these leading civic tech groups, states now automatically renew over 60% of Medicaid enrollments on average, with some states achieving more than 90%.
In 2024, after the success of this ad hoc convening and coordinating, the Beeck Center and its Digital Benefits Network formally launched the Digital Benefits Leadership Council—a group composed of executive leaders and senior program directors from leading organizations within the benefits ecosystem.
